A Little Segue

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a cat will hop into a suitcase when one is opened up

I have so much to tell you all. Stories about what happened at my elementary school job, Irish dance, how Jon went from thinking about being a patent attorney to joining a business venture, to work on the inside of the house, the garden I'm actually working on outside, my new job, my new business (yes, I said business!) and so much more!

However, those tales will have to wait as I'm packing right now for a road trip to Dallas.  My friend and I will be joining and hanging out with another friend, the lovely, talented and incredibly artistic Pascalle Lepas, of this online comic, who will be a guest speaker at A-Kon.  That's right, I'm going to be a groupie at a nerd convention, and I'm actually excited about it.  Nothing like getting out of town and hanging with some geeks to change up the routine.  I promise pictures and more stories to type (dear lord will I ever get through all of them?!) soon.

Well... ehm.

It's been awhile hasn't it?

It's hard to know where to start on these things.  I feel awful about abandoning my blog, I do and I'm really, really sorry I dropped off the face of bloglandia.  At the time, however, blogging was the last thing usually on my mind.  When I did think about blogging all I could think about is how miserable my posts would sound.  I was tired, drained of all life and vivacity, and most of that was due to my job.  I didn't want to be that blogger who wrote only about the hardships and misery.  And so, time went on and I thought less and less of this blog.  Then, my life took some unexpected, but wonderful, turns.

I started thinking about my neglected blog and all the people I remember reading about.  Yesterday, I finally looked up a couple of my lovely blog friends I had made.  One is pregnant, another is moving, and lord knows what else the rest of my friends have been up to.  I felt a pang of guilt and a whole lot of sadness as I have missed SO much and wasn't 'there' for any of you.  I finally realized that maybe I should get on here, not just because I have the clarity of mind to blog again, but, to be a friend again to my awesome readers if you'll let me.

I owe you all so many apologies, as well as updates.  Please know I am genuinely sorry, but, genuine about getting things started again.  Life has changed and there's too much to say in just a couple of posts.  I hope, my dear readers, you'll allow me back in and we can 'sit down' and get caught up.  If that's good with you, I'll get right on that.
