Taking Steps

On a gloomy, cold, windy day like this a bright reminder of spring is rather neccessary...

Sunflowers always do it. They are bright, cheerful, and remind you of the days where the weather begged you to go outside and get things taken care of. Their vibrancy stirs something within, and your insides come alive after a week of inner termoil.
So I stepped outside yesterday, with friends and loved ones, ran errands, did laundry, donated clothes, cleaned my room, and rearranged my closet. The feeling of accomplishment was satisfying espcially after this past week where so much seemed intimidating and thus undoable. And I realized that sometimes one has to take small steps in doing tasks. For whatever reason doing the small 'things' helps make the larger more intimidating tasks appear more attainable; they may actually get done even! I don't know how to explain it, I can't really break these thoughts and feelings down and understand why... just seems to work that way and I'm not going to argue with it.
Hopefully, fear and trepidation won't pluck the petals of motivation for me. (Unlike Mina who decided that the sunflower needed to be tasted- it's her version of quality control I think. If it's not edible, it shouldn't be here.) Anyways, I'm working on my to-do list, trying to keep fear of the unknows to cause me to retreat in terror at bay. I am beginning to realize that sometimes you just have to look for that light at the end of the tunnel, or (if you don't like cliche's) just seek out something bright, to give you hope, and make you realize that it will all be okay- in time.

You'll get there! I understand how accomplishing something completely different can help you feel better about the other big issues that haunt you. Keep plugging away - it'll get there!
