I got sick... again. Most of the bugs I've caught this year haven't been too severe and fortunatly they have been brief. But when I woke up this morning after a rough night of coughing, runny nose, headache (all this after taking an army's worth of otc meds) I knew I probably have a sinus infection and I had to get it taken care of before I ended up with bronchitis.

I went to the nearby Urgent Care. Yes, I know, but, when you don't have insurance and the ER costs an arm and a leg you have very limited choices. Besides paying upfront gets me 35% off the total cost, so, it's not too bad. Though to be truthful I am nearly 200 bucks poorer and that's getting the cheap drugs and the discount folks! God bless our wonderful health care system that I can't afford. Okay, okay 'nuff with the mini-rant. When the doc saw me and agreed I had a nasty lil' sinus infection on top of severe swelling in my respitory passages thanks to allergies. I like it when I'm right.

Sooooooo, on top of the usual script for an anti-biotic, I also recieved scripts for a nasal steriod spray and prescription strength allergy meds AND! a steriod shot in the keester. My first ever! (okay since I can remember and I can remember things from when I was 3 yrs) The nurse said I was 'a champ' when she administered the shot. So go me!

Alrighty, drugs in hand, lots of homeopathic immune help, and steriods... Should be good here soon.

Oh yuck :( Poor you. I have a cold, but I think it will probably be gone in a day or so, but those sinus infections are the worst. Hope you're feeling better soon. xx
Oh, hey Ms Habebi, I forgot - I gave you an award on my blog :)
Colds can be nasty. I hate the ones that just linger on and on. I hope you recover from yours quickly! And again thank you for the award!
HAhahahaa you're a champ... I love that. I may be using that. That's awesome.
Habebi the image is so funny but i like it! sorry to hear about your sickness... take a lot of fluids and juices...that's a lot better than taking drugs!!!
Feel better Habebi. Sending you cosmic hugs from across the pond xoxo
All I can say is, "I hope that you feel much better very quickly and that you improve steadily until you feel like a million dollars!"
Kudos on the better living through chemistry! Nature never helped me like predisone. Sorry.
Sarah- Use to your delight my dear! I still use your fabulous "appreciating fine art..." one. I made an old lady giggle with that btw I gave you all the credit. You should be proud.
Flory- Isn't it a fun one! I didn't have to pull my drawers down that far. I asked her if she needed top of the check of full check. Thankfully she only needed top check! Thanks for the well wishes!
Sara Louise- Loving those cosmic hugs! Thanks so much! Sending some [nonsick] cosmic hugs across the bond to you!
Merci Pliers! I am working on it. Better living through chemistry indeed. Those steriods may give me a funky buzz, but, they are clearing stuff out and that makes me happy.
Oh no! Im so sorry you got sick. that sucks, and I know how it is to have crummy/no insurance. It really makes you not want to go until you absolutely have to. Feel better!~
Thank you Heather! Yeah having no insurance does make me put off things. I've learned to take better care of myself, so, I'm not sick as much as I used to. But, when I do get sick I really start to fret about it getting worse and needing medical intervention. It's no fun, but, I know there are people out there who have it far worse than me.
oh my gosh, sounds bad! hope you feel better with the shot. french fry had one when he was back in france for christmas, and it worked perfectly! no more sniffles and hot/cold brushes...
take care.
